 
Lumak The story of Lumak, the snow-blind boy, has been told many times in contemporary Inuit art. This sculpture depicts the end of the tale. Having regained his sight with the help of a loon, Lumak decides to punish his mother, who would not share her food with him when he was blind. While hunting whales, Lumak tricks her into being pulled by a harpooned whale into the sea, where she is condemned to remain forever, calling, "Luuma! Luuma!"    |
