Ron Barber created this folk art sculpture around 1980. Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau is seen accompanied by a crew of provincial premiers who are all paddling in different directions. Trudeau presided over difficult negotiations leading to Canada’s renewed Constitution and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which came into effect on April 17, 1982.
