Agnes Deans Cameron travels to the Arctic Ocean
1908
After a 25 year teaching career, Agnes Deans Cameron, along with her niece Jessie Brown, travelled to the Arctic Ocean in 1908. Cameron was a teacher, writer, lecturer and adventurer. Cameron also supported numerous gender equality causes, including pay equity and suffrage, or voting rights, for women, and was a dedicated educational reformer and immigration “booster.”
